The Bloomsbury

Located just a few minutes from The British Museum, London’s Theatreland, Soho and Covent Garden, The Bloomsbury sits at the centre of the historic and vibrant 18th century Bloomsbury, London’s literary heartland.

London , Greater London

Heritage is reflected in the fabric of the hotel itself, a magnificent Edwin Lutyens’ Grade II-listed neo-Georgian building with striking Corinthian pilasters and distinctive red brick lending a stately appearance.

At the start of the 20th century, the neighbourhood was home to The Bloomsbury Set – a clique of artists, writers and intellectuals notorious as much for their bohemian lifestyle as their creativity. Their legacy lives on in The Bloomsbury where peaked capped bellboys blend a debonair style with a chic nod to the past and in the elegant, quintessentially English Dalloway Terrace, named after Virginia Woolf’s eponymous character. Meanwhile, the discreet location, plush leather armchairs and intimate, atmospheric lighting lend The Bloomsbury Club Bar the air of a secret, 1920s speakeasy perfect for celebrating the golden age of cocktails.

After a summer of renovations, which includes the opening of The Coral Room, a stunning new bar, the hotel’s entrance has also moved to the west side of its Lutyens’ heritage building. Here, you’ll be welcomed by one of the friendly doormen who will guide you to the new, stylish sitting room, created just for residential guests.
